Of the Bryophyllum Variety

by Nishit Trivedi

This is not Aloe plant, but it is the Bryophyllum variety.

Bryophyllum is a plant genus of the Crassulaceae family that has sometimes been included within the genus Kalanchoe. There are about forty species in the group, native originally of South Africa, Madagascar, and Asia.

The group is notable for vegetatively growing small plantlets on the fringes of the leaves; these eventually drop off and root. These plantlets arise from mitosis of meristematic-type tissue in notches in the leaves.

Thank you, for this - anyone else?

Thank you, Nishit Trivedi,
This is a whole new angle of information about this kind of plant. It is hard for me to confirm or deny it, so I invite other visitors to leave comments under this item.

Is it possible that Bryophyllum is another variety under the class of Aloes?

Rather than start a new conversation, if you can confirm or disprove this, please leave a comment - if you would be so kind.

Blessings & Thanks,
