Visibility To Media In The BDVA Community

Focus and activities

This Task Force focuses on giving visibility to media in the BDVA community

The objective of the Task Force Media is to give visibility to media within the BDVA community.

The main idea is to collect the requirements and challenges from media in the context of the new AI PPP and get media into the focus of future European data and AI calls, or to successfully connect BDVA with the corresponding units for media specific calls. One of the specific goals in the context of the new partnerships and alliances is to put together a white paper on the concept of shared media data spaces.

The task force aims to connect with related workshops in order to collect input and share experiences. Overall, the goal is to strengthen the presence of media companies in the BDVA community.

During 2025, the Task Force will focus on:

  • Data ecosystems in the media sector: as media is one of the sectors targeted by the European Common Data Space, unlocking the potential of data use and reuse through tangible use cases has become a key objective. In recent years, data sharing and the development of data spaces in media have emerged as central topics.
  • AI as a transformative technology in the media sector: Artificial Intelligence continues to be a major driver of change in the media sector. Notably, Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries is one of the 14 targeted verticals in the GenAI4Europe program, highlighting the strategic relevance of AI for media innovation.

The Task Force aims to build a vibrant community focused on data and AI applications in media. It seeks to foster active member participation, attract domain experts, and engage key industry players and projects. Additionally, the Task Force will leverage members’ involvement in relevant initiatives (e.g., TEMS) to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration on these strategic topics.

BDVA’s Task Forces meet regularly, discussing the latest updates from the ecosystem, collaborating on publications and organising events. Check out BDVA’s activities and make sure to stay tuned!
