The European Commission has launched today (23 May) the public consultation for the European Data Union Strategy, which will set the course for the EU’s data policy in the coming years.

First announced by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in her political guidelines, the strategy aims to support the wider availability and use of data, in particular for AI; simplify and streamline the EU’s data regulatory landscape; and ensure that Europe remains open and assertive in shaping international data flows.
