Aloe Vera Capsules from Canadian Sources

Just a few years ago I was complaining that I couldn't order Aloe Vera Capsules from Canadian sources. I found one in the USA at Puritan's Pride. I was able to order them a few times, and really liked these capsules. But then they said they were not allowed to ship these over the border any more. There seemed to be none available in Canada.

How quickly things change on the internet! This year, 2017, as I've searched again, now there are many sites selling all kinds of aloe vera capsules from Canadian businesses. (Mind you, I still pine for the aloe vera capsules from Puritans Pride).

Then my webpage goes on to list several sites that do sell aloe vera capsules in Canada. If you wish to check them out, go to this new page here; Aloe-Vera-Capsules-Canadian

In fact, it occurs to me that I could write Puritan's Pride and share the information this page with them too. They might be working on a basis of 'old information'. I'll see if I can work that in soon.

My Labour Day

Would you like to know how I'm spending my Labour Day?

(If you are American you spell it, Labor Day, but then some of us Canadians are still somewhat loyal to our British roots and use the old way, Labour....)

How many people do you know who really work on Labour/Labor Day? Most of my friends and acquaintances are taking the day off to rest up before the fall school and work or social schedule kicks in. For a lot of folks it is the day you go to the lake to swim or boat, and you mourn that summer holidays are over.

In my case, my parents thought it was the perfect day to have the whole family out in the garden, digging up our crop of potatoes for the winter, and picking the last of any beans, or cucumbers, or melons that were still on their vines. That is, unless it looked like the nice fall weather would hold out a little while longer. Particularly the melons, we liked to keep them growing riper on the vine before we brought them in to finish ripening in a cool, dark corner.

My garden is not as huge as our family garden was, but I would be 'cleaning up the garden' today too, except that I have a publishing deadline. I've spent several years on an assignment to write a history of a mission that I've worked with since 1999. This book covers our mission's history for the last 76 years, and the Eras of five Directors. It weighs 2 lbs. at 364 pages right now. I've spent the last 4 weeks intent on the printing of some advance review copies, (which I also collated and bound and distributed), and now in the final polish and fixing stage - and hopefully editing down by a few pages, so that it will be ready to go to the printers mid-September. We are having a big Celebration on October 13, at which this book will be launched, our history celebrated, and we'll look to the next Era in our future, but I'm also trying to squeeze in time to promote the book, and invite advance orders so we can guestimate how many copies to order from the printer.

All that to say I don't have time to clean up my garden today. I'm hoping there will be a few hours I can claim back once the book is at the printer's, and then I will get the garden cleaned up and some beds even dug up and ready to go dormant for our winter. Around here it is not uncommon to have our first snowfall in September or October.

So, I'm labouring on the book today instead of the garden. But I am "labouring"!

I'm confident that the Lord to give me enough time to bring in the whole harvest. If I hear there is to be a frost over night, I can always dash out and in half an hour pick all the last green tomatoes, the 9 watermelons, and the zucchini. I might not get the plant waste pulled up and done away with and chopped up for compost, but that's okay. It can be done in spring too.

I Recommend - Eat Raw Tomatoes

I just learned this yesterday. I had a vague sinus headache, but was planning to meet with some people for the evening. On my table were 6 fresh vine-ripened tomatoes from the garden. I wanted to eat them for my quick little supper, but I hesitated. Tomatoes are known to be acidic, so what if they made my headache worse?

I decided to do a quick check online and discover to my delight that, though they are acidic, tomatoes (like lemons) will turn your digestive juices alkaline if you eat them raw. If you cook them first that feature is destroyed, and yes, they will be acidic in your body. - "Wow! Look't that! I crowed."

So I cut four of them up in wedges, sprinkled on a bit of sea salt, and went at them with a fork. Before the fourth or fifth bite was chewed and swallowed, my 'vague headache' vanished. I felt bright-eyed and bushy-tailed again, as my Dad would say.

Here's my recommendation then; if you are feeling "off", that is bloated, or with bowel gas or flatulence, or any vague aches and pains that are hard to identify, it may just mean that your digestive system is too acidic (especially if you have eaten sweets or meat in the last day or so). To restore a more alkaline system, eat a few raw tomatoes.

Or, as I've discovered in the past, a wedge cut out of a real lemon, and eaten or sucked on, will clear up that kind of headache within 30 minutes.
