Aloe Vera Tips & Solutions monthly newsletter/ezine of www.aloe-vera-and-handy-herbs.com avavavavavavavavavavavavavavavav Vol. 5 #52 March 7, 2016 Contents: Taking Care of Ourselves - Zika Virus No doubt you have been reading and hearing about the Zika Virus on the news; is it really to blame for the birth defects in babies? Here's the Zika Virus - another view. Sherry Brescia wrote on her blog on Feb. 3, an article that opened my eyes. I think I understand this situation better now. Let me share her main points and give you a link to go read her article for yourself. Sherry pointed out that the Zika virus has been around since the 1940s, and in many parts of the world. One out of five who were bit by mosquitos carrying Zika got mild flu-like symptoms. The other four had none. Now in October 2015 it is suddenly blamed for 4,000 babies born in Brazil with the smaller heads. Why just Brazil? Many of the women and children affected by birth defects in Brazil have tested negative for the Zika virus. So how can it be the cause? This does not compute in a thinking mind. What is really going on in Brazil? Sherry tells us that many of their mosquitos are geneticall engineered to combat a dengue fever borne by mosquitos, (since 2012), using GE chemicals by Oxitec in Brazil. These male insects are suppose to reduce the number of Aedes aegypti mosquito by altering its natural reproductive cycle. The larvae are suppose to die off before they get past that stage. Do they? Well... only if the antibotic tetracycline is not present in the process as in a clean lab situation. In real life things are not always perfect lab situations. Brazil is third highest in the world for use of tetracycline in food animals. This leaves a strong probability that Frankenbugs are born there! Guess what they may be giving people that they bite that is far worse than dengue fever! In fact, one town in Brazil is reporting continuing elevated levels of dengue fever since the GE mosquitos have been flying about. Genetically engineered (GE) bugs bring problems just as GE foods do. So far little to NO safety testing has been done. There is the matter of heavy herbicide use too. Nor has there been any testing in pregnant women for the TdaP vaccines that the Brazil government is now making mandatory for pregnant women. How do we know that will not make matters worse? It is curious that the explosion of babies born with this defect happened in October 2015, while in late 2014 this vaccine was started with pregnant women. Can you count off 9 months? I'm not saying anything is tied in here, but I'm asking questions. This problem does not compute well in my mind. As Sherry adds in her blog, "Many areas of Brazil are overcome with poverty, inadequate nutrition, and poor hygiene and sanitation - all factors that impair immune functioning and invite widespread disease to come knocking." But, she also says, "Don’t panic - embrace Nature’s disease protection instead!" I'll let you read further with her; HolisticBlends.com blog, re: Zika Virus
A Practical Tip/Solution - Lacking Energy Lacking energy and feeling fatigued continue to rank among the top five complaints that people report to their doctors. What makes this tricky is the causes of low energy can run the gamut, and you need to consider all possibilities that could be driving your daytime drowsiness. In addition to the most common reasons (not getting adequate sleep, drinking too much alcohol and having an underactive thyroid), here are some other factors to consider and how you can help turn them around and explode your energy: Poor digestion The fix: Make your meals easier for your body to break down by avoiding eating animal proteins and starches in the same meal. The animal protein-starch combination is very taxing to your body and in addition to triggering heartburn, gas, bloating and constipation, it can sap your energy. Also consider supplementing with enzymes like Digestizol Max. Many people have enzyme challenges and it can make a huge difference to give your body a helpful boost.
I Recommend - Avoid GMO Foods You know that Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) are bad for us, right? But how can we avoid GMO foods? I've just read how the milk given to babies and children with cancer have GMO in them. They are now in many foods in our supermarkets, but we can't always tell - or can we? Sherry Brescia, mentioned above, has shared a tip I want to remember from now on. GMO fruits and vegetables can be spotted by looking at the code on the sticker - if it has 5 digits starting with an 8, it’s a GMO. You want to remember it too? Look for a five-digit number on the sticker - starting with 8! Blessings & Thanks! Ruth Marlene Friesen
