Pregnant Plant

My daughter had one of these and the tag said it was a pregnant plant. It drops the small leaves to propagate.

Pregnant Plant - Unusual, but True
by: Ruth

Pregnant plant an unusual term to use with a plant, Dolly, but it is true. Those small leaves do drop off and become new plants.

The person applying the tags, must have been something of a wit, or tease.

Does anyone have photos to upload showing the very young new plants starting out? In this case, we're talking of Bryophyllum daigremontianum, or Kalanchoe daigremontiana. Also known as Mother of Thousands.

Thanks,
Ruth
