Aloe Barberae NOT sticky

by Joubert
(Australia)

I wanted to buy an aloe vera plant for it's healing properties. Everywhere I researched it said that the plant has a sticky substance in the leave.
I bought an Aloe Barberae, but the liquid in the leave is not sticky at all.

Is there one a few varieties that have healing properties and that you can eat as well?

Ruth's reply:
I don't recognize this Aloe Barberae name. (Unless you meant to spell it barbadensis) That IS aloe vera, just the latin name for it.

But I've never tried to eat any other variety of aloes, so I honestly don't know. Maybe someone else will come along and be able to answer your question.

Blessings,
Ruth
